A friend once asked me which of my two passions I could give up more easily, stitching or gardening - an impossible question. The suggestion that I could give up either is preposterous!
If you are enamoured with blooms, be they grown in soil or stitched on cloth, then welcome to BLOOM.

MAGICALLY TRANSFORM ONE LAYER CAKE INTO TWO QUILTS
The design for these quilts came about because I was keen to teach my daughters to quilt. The quilts have simple cutting, quick piecing and no seams to match. And with the addition of some low-cost background fabric, they make optimum use of a single layer cake of fabric.
A layer cake is a coordinating collection of approximately forty 10" x 10" squares from a single fabric range. It is an economical way to purchase a small amount of each fabric in a range.
Single bed size quilt: 66.5” x 81.5” (169cm x 207cm)
Small quilt: 44" x 57" (112cm x 145cm)

This is quite possibly the quickest quilt you will ever make! Mini 10" quilt 'sandwiches' are sewn together with a 1/2" seam. The seams are clipped to give some great 'cuddle-up' texture.

Given the awful suffering of many across the world right now, I am very grateful to be in good health, to be living where I do and to have a garden to escape to. We have been gardening at our current block for 3 years now. Let me show you a little of what we’ve been up to!
I am using freezer paper as a template to make the arcs for my Free-Wheeling Single Girl quilt, a technique that I find really quick and easy. I have had a couple of questions about this on Instagram, so here is a tutorial on my method.
I was tempted to sign up as soon as Wendy @ The Next Stitch announced the Free-Wheeling Single Girl Sewalong! I need a corporate project to get myself sewing again. I purchased the PDF pattern from Denyse Schmidt and have been agonising over fabric choices ever since!
